Bear and Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder

We live in suburban bear country in Colorado and were frustrated with bears and squirrels getting into our bird feeders. So, we devised a system that will deter black bears and squirrels from feeders in our yard. We built several and tried them for ten years. They worked! Then a friend tried one in his backyard. The bears attacked it but were unsuccessful! See photo of bear marks to the right. No more having to take the feeder in each night. Now the feeder is up all summer.
